Why Being a Team Player Goes Beyond the Court
At Purdue, I joined food drives. At Duke, I helped hand out meals to the homeless and spent time at children’s centers. I believe it’s important to show younger generations that community matters, relationships matter, and giving back matters. Of course, you have to be in a position to give back, and that’s why I work hard every day: to honor the people who trained me, taught me, and poured into me. Giving back is my way of showing them that they matter, their words matter, and I care.
Anytime I get to go back home or see familiar faces, it’s always love. It’s always a great time to rekindle old connections. Especially now, as we approach Thanksgiving, it’s a perfect reminder to help out. Whether it’s through charity, supporting friends and family, or lending a hand to someone you don’t even know.
