Contactless Debit Card FAQs

What does the Contactless Symbol look like?
How do I get my contactless debit card?
Contactless debit cards will start being mailed out in batches starting in October 2024. We will also be able to print these in some of our branches that offer instant issue by November 2024.
How does contactless work?
Contactless payments use short range NFC (near field communication) technology to securely complete payments between a contactless card and a contactless-enabled checkout terminal.
Can I accidentally make a payment with my contactless card?
Contactless cards need to be within 1-2 inches of the Contactless Symbol on the terminal for transmit payment information, so it would be very difficult to accidentally make a payment.
Where can I pay with my contactless card?
You can tap where you see the Contactless Symbol at checkout. Many merchants now accept contactless as a preferred payment method.
What if contactless payments are not accepted at a store I'm shopping at?
You can still swipe or insert your contactless card to pay if tap to pay is unavailable.
How does my contactless debit card secure my financial information?
During payment, your FFBT Debit MasterCard will securely transmit a unique, one-time code that changes for every in person transaction and encrypts your payment method. This code is also different than your card number.
