What’s the secret to performing in high‑pressure moments?

There’s no shiny or glamorous answer. The truth is simple: belief in yourself.

And that belief is built on years and years of reps. You can’t expect to fully believe in something when it’s new. Not until you’ve failed, gotten back up, and repeated that cycle over and over again. That’s the process: reps turn into confidence, confidence turns into belief, and belief allows results to flow almost effortlessly.

Many of you have heard of flow state. Flow state is nothing more than being able to return to a place of no doubt, consistently. It’s trusting your training. This applies to every single human being, no matter your field. To become the best and most prolific in your field, you must build the formula. Once the years of reps add up, you can enter that flow state in whatever you do.

My main man Jordan Delks said it best:

“Belief and doubt have the same definition — believing an outcome is bound to happen.”

So why would we expect ourselves to fail?

This doesn’t mean failure won’t happen. It just means we should put our focus, intention, and emotion into the question: “What if it all went well?”

Now we have to talk about delusion. There’s a difference between having a delusional belief in yourself — believing you can achieve things others don’t think you’re capable of — and being delusional about your situation. You should have a delusional belief in yourself; without it, you won’t achieve half the things you want.

But to avoid being delusional about your situation, you must take ownership. That looks different for everyone:
  • Do you need to journal more?
  • Do you need a better sleep routine?
  • Is nutrition an issue?
All of this can be corrected by committing to more reps.

Every person’s path will look different. Get the right reps in for you.

No comparison. No judgment. Just work.

So when you find yourself in a high-pressure financial situation, relationship moment, or work-related challenge, you’ll have the belief in yourself to make the right call — with no hesitation.
