From the Grind to the Game
After weeks of sweat, setbacks, and small wins, Mason reflects on the journey that’s shaped him—and the team—as the season officially begins.
With the official season starting this week, I’ve been thinking a lot about the journey so far. Preseason has tested us in every way—physically, mentally, emotionally. There have been long days, tough practices, and moments where the only thing pushing us forward was the belief that it all matters.
I’ve learned a lot about myself. About how to adapt, how to lead, and how to stay grounded when everything feels unfamiliar. From the early days of jetlag and dehydration to finding rhythm with my teammates, every step has been part of something bigger. The hard days didn’t just build conditioning—they built connection. That’s what makes a team.
There’s been joy too. Quiet breakfasts, a walk through new neighborhoods, conversations that start as small talk and end with real understanding. I’ve come to appreciate the simplicity of life here. It’s not about having everything, it’s about having enough, and being grateful for the experience.
As we head into the season, I’m grateful. Grateful for the grind, for the growth, and for the people who’ve made this journey meaningful. We’ve put in the work that no one sees. Now it’s time to carry that heart and grit into every game, every possession, every moment.
This is just the beginning.
